Deepak Chahar was ruled out of the series due to a hamstring injury and Suryakumar Yadav due to a hairline fracture in his hand during the final T20 International against West Indies in Kolkata on Sunday.
Team India’s white ball game’s supreme players Suryakumar Yadav and Deepak Chahar have been ruled out of the upcoming T20 series against Sri Lanka. Before the T20 series, Team India suffered a double blow as Chahar suffered a hamstring injury while bowling in the last T20 International against West Indies, while Suryakumar suffered a hairline fracture in his hand.
A BCCI official also confirmed the news about Chahar to PTI and said that the pacer will complete his rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
“He has pulled out of the series and has completed his rehabilitation at the NCA,” a BCCI official said.
After dismissing the West Indies openers, Chahar walked off the ground with his hamstrings without completing his second over. When Deepak was bowling his second over, he seemed to have pulled a muscle in his right leg after which he stopped bowling and sat on the ground. The physio ran towards him, but the damage was done and Chahar was out of the game.
It remains to be seen whether Deepak Chahar and Suryakumar are fit for Ipl 2022 which is going to be held at the end of March.
