1St Inning WI Batting
West Indies did not start well. Brandon King was caught by Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the very first over by Suryakumar Yadav. Yuzvendra Chahal dismissed Kyle Meyers (31) LBW, who was batting well in the fifth ball of the seventh over. Ravi Bishnoi, playing the first international match, gave India the third success in the 11th over after LBW to Roston Chase. On the fifth ball of the same over, Bishnoi Rovman Pavel was also run to the pavilion.
Deepak Chahar broke the back of the Windies in the 14th over by the wicket of Aqeel Hossain. Nicholas Pooran became the victim of Harshal Patel after scoring 61 runs off 43 balls with the help of 4 fours and 5 sixes. Pooran has scored the sixth of his T20 career and the second fifty against India. Odeon Smith gave a wicket to Harshal Patel on the last ball of the innings. With the help of 61 runs from Nicholas Pooran, Windies set a target of 158 in front of India.
2nd Inning IND Batting
India had a target of 158 runs, which the Indian team achieved by losing 4 wickets in 18.5 overs. Rohit Sharma contributed with (40) runs in the win, while Suryakumar Yadav played an important innings of 34 not out.
At one point, India had lost 4 wickets for 114, but after this Suryakumar Yadav and Venkatesh Iyer put up an unbeaten 48 off 28 balls for the 5th wicket. Venkatesh Iyer hit a six over deep midwicket to give India a 1-0 lead. Suryakumar Yadav scored an unbeaten 35 off 18 balls and Venkatesh played a brilliant innings of 23 not out off 13 balls.
