According to The Hollywood Reporter, WWE Hall of Famer and 16 time world champion-turned-Hollywood star John Cena has signed with WME.
The move comes after Cena’s agent of 18+ years, Dan Bym, would leave Cena’s now-former agency, ICM, to form his own management company.
Rather, Cena is now represented 18 years later by a new talent agency in WME with ICM – the same agency that represents Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
His longtime agent Dan Bym appears to have announced his departure from ICM on Friday after 25 years as he was instead starting a management company.
Cena will continue to use Baime as a manager, which is a first for the film and TV star, as WME will handle everything else.
According to industry reports, CAA wanted Cena to stay but it took him just a day to move to WME.
Bime has helped Cena with his recent successful boom in Hollywood over the years including his run as the DC character Peacemaker in both The Suicide Squad and the self-titled TV series on HBO Max.
The TV series has been renewed for a second season. Cena is also a co-host and executive producer on TBS’ Wipeout.
Cena is currently associated with Coyote Vs Acme for Warner Bros. and is expected to be in the next Fast and the Furious films as well.
He is also starring in two Amazon Studios films – Officer Exchange and Heads of State – in addition to the upcoming Argylle film. Cena is also the voice of Honda commercials.
Cena returned to WWE last summer as part of the Summer of Cena Angle, leading up to working house shows and TV pay-per-views, before his match with WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at SummerSlam.
