Shami breaks 38 year old record
Southampton: India’s fast bowler Mohammed Shami has made his name in the record books by bowling brilliantly in the first innings of the World Test Championship final against New Zealand in Southampton on Tuesday.
The final match of the ICC World Test Championship is being played between India and New Zealand in Southampton, England. On the fifth day of the match, Mohammed Shami took the crucial wickets of Ross Taylor, BJ Watling and Colin de Grandhomme. Taylor and Watling were dismissed by Shami before the lunch break while Grandhomme was caught after the lunch break.
Shami took four wickets for 76 runs while bowling 26 overs in the first innings against the Kiwi team. Shami became the first Indian bowler to take four wickets in an innings in the final of an ICC tournament as soon as Kyle Jamieson was caught at the hands of Bumrah at the boundary.
