It made for a meaningful moment when the two tagged at the same time, giving us a preview of what could be the start of a months-long title dispute.
Reigns likes to claim that he has “greatness on a different level.” Apparently Randy Orton does too.
Orton’s hot tag was a highlight of the night, which was capped off with an RKO counter to Reigns’ spear.
The last two minutes of the match were free for all. Reigns slammed McIntyre through the announcer’s table with Uranage massively.
Puzzle pigeon out. Orton is dismissed with a Superman Punch. Riddle is back in the ring and an RKO. And then in the end, Reigns Blind tagged in the match and pushed Riddle to the win.
The Bloodline ended WrestleMania Backlash on top, but the match did exactly what it was supposed to do: These sixes are a far cry from the finish.
What will happen next: Reigns is going to defend his WWE Universal Title against McIntyre.
This is a match that is likely to be not only the main event of Hell in a Cell, but also the main event of Money in the Bank at Allegiant Stadium on July 2.
This could continue at SummerSlam and beyond. There is a lot for WWE to work on between these two.
Fans deserve to see these two teams in a proper two-on-two tag match without Reigns’ supervision.
