WWE WrestleMania 38 Results: These are two of the most spectacular WrestleMania nights in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) history. The first day of WrestleMania 38 took place on Saturday night at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas. Seven matches took place on this day, some of which produced favorable results, as we take a look.
The Usos beat Shinsuke Nakamura & Rick Booges (SmackDown Tag Team Championship)
Nakamura and Booges were tipped into the match and made a strong start for some time, only for the Usos to quickly take control. Although once Boogas was tagged in, it looked like he could lead his team to victory, only to take his knee after he tried to lift the two Usos at once. It effectively became a handicap match, with the Usos quickly ending it and retaining the title via pinfall.
Drew McIntyre defeated Happy Corbin
McIntyre was not happy after Corbin’s comments about the former’s late mother on SmackDown last Friday.
He immediately followed Corbin, and after a few brief exchanges of supremacy between the two, the Scottish prevailed and pinned Corbin. Also, the former also became the first wrestler to exit the latter’s final move in WWE, End of Days.
The Miz & Logan Paul beat The Mysterios
Although Mysterious was the favorite to watch, Miz and Paul were technically superior, thanks to Ray’s experiential experience. There were some close moments in the match, but Miz and Paul mostly dominated and registered a relatively easy win.
Paul was impressive with his wrestling skills, but it was even more interesting to see Miz betray Paul after the match, as Miz wanted the spotlight, leading to a future feud between the two.
Bianca Belair defeated Becky Lynch (Raw Women’s Championship)
The intense rivalry since last year’s SummerSlam ended here as both wanted the match to end soon. However, this persisted for a long time, with Becky hardly allowing Bianca to regain control, thanks to the former’s experiential experience.
Still, Bianca overcame all odds through determination, and it was only the kiss of death to pin down the champion.
Cody Rhodes defeated Seth Rollins
The rumors and reports turned out to be true, as the long-awaited return of Rhodes finally took place. He became the hand-picked rival for Rollins by WWE President Vince McMahon.
As he made his general foray into the independent circuit and All Elite Wrestling (AEW), fans at the venue cheered. Considering the match, it was highly competitive, with close calls going both ways.
Rhodes dug deeper and engaged Rollins with his four finish maneuvers, crossroads, to pin the former world and Universal champion.
Charlotte Flair defeated Ronda Rousey (SmackDown Women’s Championship)
The heated rivalry peaked in a match at WrestleMania 38. It was a wild and intensely competitive bout as expected, with both engaging in a quality wrestling match.
However, it faced a controversial ending after the referee was momentarily ejected in the match, as Charlotte stole a win to escape while retaining her title, when she had already tapped Ronda’s armbar. while the referee was out.
Stone Cold Steve Austin defeated Kevin Owens
It was supposed to be a standard talk show. However, Owens managed to convince Austin to fight against him in a no-holds bard match. Though the latter thought for a while, he finally agreed to it.
And, to everyone’s delight, he dominated throughout the match. While Austin also kicked out a stunner, Owens couldn’t pin as much as the former to win his first match in 19 years. After the match, he gave Owens another stunner, followed by a commentator, Byron Saxton, and drank plenty of beer to send fans home content.
